WHAT IS THE NWPA?

The NWPA was formed in 1981 to represent the photographic clubs in North Wales and to co-ordinate the activities of our 24 clubs in Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flint, Gwynedd & Wrexham.

We are one of fifteen federations which make up the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB). We have an Executive Committee which meets 4 times a year and is made up of Officers, Organisers and also a delegate from each club.

The role of the delegate is to liaise between their club and the Executive Committee, to raise any matters of concern, seek advice & distribute information.

The following benefits and events are organised by the Federation:

Public Liability Insurance cover and Trustee Indemnity Insurance are arranged annually.

The NWPA Directory lists Judges & Lecturers willing to visit your club. Updated lists should be obtained from the Judges and Lecturers Organiser ( Email: Jason Wharam) as he maintains the list.
Up-dated lists can be requested from or Secretary

An Exhibition is held annually to showcase the best work from club members.

Two Inter-Club competitions are held each year, usually in April and October. The winning clubs are invited to represent the NWPA in the relevant PAGB’s Inter-Club Championships

Newsletters are sent by e-mail to club Secretaries & Delegates for distribution to club members. These give details of forthcoming events and results from competitions and exhibitions.

Through the PAGB our members are eligible to apply for Awards for Photographic Merit.
Adjudications are held twice a year at 3 levels - Credit, Distinction and Master.
Our members may also gain distinctions with the Federation Internationale de l’Art Photographique (FIAP).

An Inter-Federation Competition and Exhibition is also held annually.

Recorded Lectures are available to hire to augment club programmes.

e-news is a free online mailing to the Federation club Memebrers, approx every month. Subscribe by registering on the website: www.pagbnews.co.uk

The main PAGB website www.thepagb.org.uk contains information on all their activities and advice on numerous photographic topics.
